THE GAS WORKS - LAUNCESTON
THE GAS WORKSRedevelopment & Restoration
Cimitiere Street LAUNCESTON

The Gas Works greenfield site which borders the CBD of Launceston is currently being redeveloped by Tasland Developments.  Parking in this area is abundant and the prime site offers in excess of 1000m2 of top quality warehousing which ideally lends itself to an integrated commercial and entertainment redevelopment.

In 2014 a $65,000,000 application put forward by Tasland to develop the adjoining council car park within this precinct was rejected by the Launceston City Council.  Tasland Developments then decided to downscale the development to the Gas Works site only.

The magnificent rejected development included a new state of the art cinema, a walking bridge from Aurora Stadium across the river, a large outdoor stage for all types of family entertainment, a hotel plus restaurants and cafes.  The rejection of this exciting development was a disappointing result for the people of Launceston.

Tasland are currently negotiating with a new international conglomerate in regard to developing the the Gas Works site on a global scale.
